- Nausea Fuel: Oh, yeah. Every character is disgusting in their own way...which is always exploited to the extreme.
- Periphery Demographic: The series is surprisingly popular with female fans as well as the intended male target group, an oddity for gross-out toys.
- The Problem with Licensed Games: The video game released for the Nintendo DS is a poor collection of four minigames and a checklist of collected Trashies...not worth the price it was sold as.
- Squick: The series runs on this. It's gross on purpose. However, the series is a lot tamer than other gross-out series, possibly out of character choices and designs.
- Ugly Cute: One of the reasons the series caught on so well. Their designs were much more accessible than other gross-out series. This is amped up in both of the animated series, where they are still offbeat-looking, but still have a slightly more traditional charm.
