  • Silvio warmly consoles Adriana in the aftermath of Christopher's shooting. Come Season 5, Silvio will be the one who murders Adriana while offering her the same consolation about Christopher, but not meaning it this time.
  • Carmela worrying about Christopher's fate in the afterlife becomes this when The Many Saints of Newark confirms he was indeed sent to Hell as punishment for his sins on Earth.
• Heartwarming in Hindsight: Real life and meta example: While fans consider Tony's "You expect me to get a vasectomy when this is my only male heir" to Carmela deliberately when AJ is in direct earshot to be the worst thing Tony ever said to his son, or either of his children in general, James Gandolfini's actual real-life and only son, Michael Gandolfini would go on to take over his late father's role as a younger Tony in The Many Saints of Newark, effectively making him his father's heir, to great critical acclaim. Michael has spoken about how the real-life Tony was a good father with many concluding that James would have been proud of his only male heir.
  • AJ's actor Robert Iler has also spoken about how James Gandolfini would look out for him as he grappled with becoming famous following the success of the show, even calling his agent to make sure he was surrounding himself with the right people.
