• Critical Dissonance: The A.V. Club gave this episode a negative review, calling it a missed opportunity that misses the point of Boyhood. However, most fans consider it to be one of the best episodes in years for its emotional storyline that analyzes the relationship between Bart, Lisa, and Homer, and it remains one of the very few episodes from Al Jean's 20 year run as showrunner to get consistent positive discussion.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: 15-year-old Bart is upset to find Homer smoking a bong at his party, concerned they'll get in trouble with the law (who, in the person of Wiggum, is already getting high with Homer). As of Season 31, marijuana is legal in Springfield's state.
