• He Panned It, Now He Sucks!: Among the many criticisms aimed at the video was the Critic's seemingly lumping The Simpsons: Bart's Nightmare in with the other shoddy games based on the series, when in fact it's often considered to be by far and away the best Simpsons-based game (not counting the arcade game) made before The Simpsons Hit & Run managed to break the franchise out of its bad run of licensed games.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: In The Stinger at the end of the video, Bart chimes in "Uh oh!" as the Channel Awesome logo appears. The next week, the Critic was forced to address the largely negative reaction towards the video, and does his next review while being held at gunpoint.
• Vindicated by History: At the time it was uploaded it was considered by many to be the worst video Doug Walker had ever done and was considered his "jump the shark" moment. But almost a decade later many fans have now warmed up to it, especially with the backlash to his review of The Wall.
