YMMV / The Flight Attendant

  • Ass Pull: The reveal that Shane Evans is actually an undercover CIA agent isn't foreshadowed in the slightest before he shows up to pull a Big Damn Heroes to rescue Cassie from Feliks. Cassie even points out how it seemed like he just came completely out of nowhere with a gun to save her.
  • Captain Obvious Reveal: Dot being revealed to be the true Big Bad of Season 2 isn't exactly hidden very well. The fact that she actively keeps making excuses to keep Cassie in the CIA despite the latter's lack of professionalism and unpredictability is incredibly suspicious, and the fact that her hair is a similar color to Cassie's when the entire plot of the second season is about trying to find someone who was stealing Cassie's identity to commit crimes didn't leave too many other options on the table to pick.
  • Complete Monster: Feliks, aka Buckley Ware, is an assassin working for Lionfish, who gutted and hung several cats in his childhood, horrifying everyone at his boys home. Having killed countless people on Lionfish's behalf, women and children included, Feliks would murder Alex Sokolov, before stalking his one-night stand, Cassandra "Cassie" Bowden, back to New York, entering her life as Buckley Ware, and killing several other people Cassie comes into contact with, such as a woman whom Feliks throws off a building, an FBI agent whose throat Feliks slashes, and nearly killing Max by running him over with a car. Feliks would then attempt to kill Miranda and Cassie before tracking the latter down in Rome to strangle her there before stabbing both Miranda and Enrico, and would manipulate a woman to kill Cassie for him while he's still in prison.
  • She Really Can Act: Kaley Cuoco, while never considered a terrible actress per se, was known for some light-hearted comedies. Her performance in this series, where she gets to really exercise her dramatic chops, has won her a great deal of acclaim and applause from critics and viewers, as well as nominations for Best Actress.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: The FBI agents Kim Hammond and Van White. Both are credited as starring cast, and both seem like they have could have a potentially interesting story arc. However, neither really gets much of any development and all and generally they seem to have less importance to the overall story than some of the cast that are considered guest stars. Ultimately, it really just seems like they're in the story for no other reason than, well, of course the FBI is investigating Cassie. Neither of them were invited to return for the second season.
  • Unexpected Character: It's probably safe to say that nobody was expecting Feliks to make an appearance in the finale of the second season, hence the credit for the character appearing in the end credits rather than the opening.
