• Cult Classic: Most of the games in the series are this.
• Even Better Sequel: Most of the later installments in the series are considered this.
• Moral Event Horizon: The volcano from Sushi Cat the Honeymoon crossed this when it attacked Sushi Cat's cruise ship, which would've killed everyone on it had Sushi Cat not gotten big enough to cover the leak in the boat.
• Scrappy Mechanic: If you go to see the reviews for Sushi Cat Words on Google Play, you will find that many people are upset that you have to pay a monthly subscription just to play a generic word puzzle game. Even people who actually like Sushi Cat Words are annoyed by this.
• Sequel Displacement: An interesting example. Most people are aware of the first game, but probably aren't aware that the series' first sequel wasn't actually Sushi Cat 2, but rather Sushi Cat the Honeymoon. Even the official website for the series lists Sushi Cat the Honeymoon as, "Sushi Cat 4", despite it being the series' first ever sequel.
