• Harsher in Hindsight:
  • Joe Carey being listed as one of the casualties in the Bad Future, as he would ultimately be Killed Off for Real in Season 7.
  • Rewatching this episode after the series entire run, this future really is bad not only for most of the main characters and Tom and B'Elanna's daughter, but countless people Voyager would have helped in the final timeline.
• Hilarious in Hindsight:
  • Harry the Eternal Ensign gets a promotion to lieutenant in this Alternate Universe. If only the series had lasted another year...
  • Kes and Tom's daughter Linnis is a biologist and medic on a starship. Her actress, Jessica Collins, starred as a scientist on another starship with the exact same job, while battling a Leprechaun in space. Made even better by Linnis wearing green and having pointed ears.
• Ho Yay: Tom and Harry are a bit too close when the latter becomes the former's son-in-law.
• She Really Can Act: This episode might be Jennifer Lien's tour-de-force as Kes: she portrays the character as a senile elderly woman, a proud grandmother, an experienced doctor, and a joyful new mom, and is totally believable in each guise.
