• Harsher in Hindsight: Boimler revealing that future Spock has a reputation for being full Vulcan and therefore is not together with Chapel in the future hits Chapel hard, but the moment reads harsher when you realize two episodes later, Chapel will sing a breakup song in front of Spock that hits him equally hard.
• Spiritual Successor:
  • Is an inversion of "Scooby Natural". In the Supernatural episode, characters from the live-action show visited the animated universe of Scooby-Doo whereas here, characters from the animated series visit the live action universe.
  • Also feels inspired by "Trials and Tribble-ations" in that in has characters from the future integrated into the past, where they get to see their heroes in action.
