YMMV / Sonic.EXE: One More Saga

Go To

  • Fandom Rivalry: Mainly between fans of these games, as well as fans of One Last Round-inspired Sonic.RIBS. While most argue that both games are unique in their own way, with YouTuber Luigikid Gaming even imagining the idea of the developers of both games, as well as Sonic.EYX's developer, collaborating together in the future. However, some fans saw .RIBS as a blatant ripoff of the two other games, despite One Last Round and Sonic.RIBS featuring Easter eggs of each other's main villains in certain areas to show the appreciation the developers have for one another.
  • Fridge Brilliance: Each time Sonic.OMT murders a victim, he always turns his head towards the screen, likely to acknowledge the player. However, it's also likely he knows about Robotnik watching him murder Tails and Knuckles in each game, soon opting to break into the doctor's base to punish him for knowing too much. In a way, his facing the screen could also be facing whatever robot Robotnik has monitoring the carnage in the background, as a way to give Robotnik the heads-up that he'll be on the demon's hit list soon enough.
  • Nightmare Retardant:
    • Sonic.OMT looks horrific most of the time, but some of the faces he makes look silly due to the eyes looking so shrunk as if they are Black Bead Eyes instead of Black Eyes of Evil as originally intended.
    • Some post-kill screens have ridiculous misspellings which suck the nightmare factor out, such as:
      • "I'ts funny how you keep trying to save them"
      • "Your opportunities won't get you to far"
      • "I caugth you"
      • "Your recoil didn't work out for you. Especiality not against me"
  • Realism-Induced Horror: For One Last Round, this applies to both major deaths occurring in Labyrinth Zone (dubbed Abandoned Zone Act 2 by the title card), one being where Sonic.OMT, in a spider form, gets Tails trapped in a web and sucks his blood right out, leaving him as a dried-out husk, and another where Tails is sealed in a narrow corridor and tries to break out as he drowns, beginning to bleed out through the head as he loses oxygen before dying. Both of these heavily reflect on real-life, with the spider death being based around how real spiders drink the blood of anything small they catch in their webs, and the drowning death reflecting on how blood rushes to a person's brain if they're running really low on oxygen.
