- Angst? What Angst?: Aside from being a bit down at the beginning of the film, overall Romeo doesn't seem to be very upset that his owners got bored of him and left him behind, and he adapts to life on the streets remarkably easily for a dog that's used to a lavish life of wealth.
- Awesome Music: A redeeming feature this film definitely has, it's the soundtrack and musical scenes.
- Cliché Storm: It's your average Bollywood musical that happens to have dogs.
- Dancing Bear: The only thing that makes people interested in the film is that Disney was somehow involved in the production.
- Designated Hero: Romeo makes a lot of reckless and dumb decisions, such as harassing Laila for a kiss, spending protection money, promising Laila to Charlie, and hitting on Laila (even though he knows Charlie will murder him if he does).
- Evil Is Cool: Romeo tries (and briefly succeeds) in turning Anna into this during the song "Cool Cool."
- Popular with Furries: Well, a whole cast of anthropomorphic dogs that dance and sing pushed many buttons in the fandom.
- Squick: Charlie Anna picking his ear with an earpick, then eating his ear wax.
- Unintentional Uncanny Valley: One of the film's biggest criticisms was that the dogs look weird of two legs
