• Aluminum Christmas Trees: Apparently, some players thought that the Phosphate Plant map was an entirely fictional location. However, the creator of the map later said that the map was based on the Battle of Angaur, which did have a phosphate plant there.
• Even Better Sequel: The expansion is generally seen as an improvement over Heroes of Stalingrad, thanks in part to the Asymmetric Multiplayer system. Even critics generally liked it more, with a Metacritic score of 82/100, compared to the base game's 76/100.
• Game-Breaker: The faction-exclusive class weapons are seen are these, mainly due to their nature of being a One-Hit Kill each time they hit an enemy.
  • The Type 89 Grenade Discharger is seen as this by some, as it provides Japanese players what is practically a mini-artillery piece that can rain death and destruction on unsuspecting American positions with no warning. Some players even hate it more than the M2 Flamethrower!
  • The M2 Flamethrower itself can also be argued to be this, especially when several Japanese players Banzai charging are wiped out in a single burst, or when their well-prepared positions are unceremoniously burned out.
• Memetic Mutation: Along with Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad, this game is called "PTSD Simulator".
