YMMV / Restless Heart

Go To

  • Covered Up:
    • "Back to the Heartbreak Kid" was originally cut by Kathy Mattea.
    • "Hummingbird", a cut from Wheels, was later a single for Ricky Skaggs in 1990.
    • Still Restless has three songs written and originally recorded by co-producer Mac McAnally: "Down the Road", "Looking Back", and "Miracle" (Crystal Bernard also recorded the latter). "Down the Road" was later covered up a second time by Kenny Chesney (as a duet with McAnally) in 2008.
    • Larry Stewart's first two solo albums contain multiple examples:
      • Down the Road: "When I Close My Eyes" was originally cut by Keith Palmer, and was later a single for Kenny Chesney in 1996. Conversely, "I Came Straight to You" was previously a single in 1990 for its cowriter, Kevin Welch.
      • Heart Like a Hurricane: "She Wants to Be Wanted Again" was cut by both Western Flyer and Ty Herndon in 1996, with the latter releasing his version as a single, while the single "Losing Your Love" was co-written and originally cut by Vince Gill in 1987.
    • People who aren't fans of country music are more familiar with the version of "The Bluest Eyes in Texas" featured heavily in the 1999 film Boys Don't Cry. It was covered twice (once by a character in the film, then a studio cover by band A Camp for the credits) and an instrumental version was created by The Cardigans as background score.
  • Signature Song: "I'll Still Be Loving You" and "The Bluest Eyes in Texas"
