- Enjoy the Story, Skip the Game: Purgatory doesn't offer much in terms of gameplay but boy, the story is elaborate, chock full of conspiracies and unexpected twists.
- Even Better Sequel: Purgatory was a short and simple game about a girl trying to escape a Malevolent Masked Man in a scary building. Purgatory 2 focuses on more characters and has both a much more complicated Conspiracy Thriller plot akin to the Metal Gear and Resident Evil series' and Multiple Endings, with many hints that there's something much bigger in store for the future...
- Too Bleak, Stopped Caring: The second game just keeps piling so much darkness on the player that halfway through it, you'd probably be quite indifferent about what happens to the protagonist or anyone in this world. Perhaps only the curiosity about what's to come will motivate you to push forward.
