- So Okay, It's Average: While the premise is preposterous and the story structure takes a lot from the Disney film, Pinocchio in Outer Space is far from a bad film. The most questionable aspects can be easily enjoyed in a So Bad, It's Good way while for the rest the animation, character design and voice acting are genuinely solid.
- Unintentional Period Piece: The film, which was made in and is set in the 60s, includes beatniks, the space race and secret agents prominently.
