  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Pastor Ryan Morris, played by conservative comedian Brad Stine, is one of the few even vaguely memorable characters due to having a few funny lines and, according to Hannah and Jake of The Bible Reloaded, "plays stupid really well". Even The Cinema Snob, who made a character Stine played in the film Christmas with a Capital C a Running Gag on his show due to how insufferable he was, admitted that Stine was much better here.
  • Narm: The big golden calf statue on the table when Luther's church board decides to sell out to the government is such a hilariously unsubtle bit of symbolism that it's hard to take seriously.
  • Pandering to the Base: The film at no point makes even the slightest effort to reach out to anyone but its very narrow target audience.
  • Questionable Casting: Dean Stockwell has a small role as one of Sen. Harrison's cronies. Made especially so by the fact that Stockwell was about as liberal as the filmmakers are conservative, being a dedicated environmentalist and lifelong Democrat. One can only assume he took the role solely for the paycheck.
