YMMV / My Life as a Background Slytherin

Go To

  • Broken Base: The "dingle bell" strip is so far the most controversial one. Some readers argue that Peeves flashing Emily, a teenage girl, is too close to Real Life sexual harassment to be funny. Others point out that the sheer absurdity of the situation, and the usage of the Inherently Funny Words "dingle bell", make it just as funny as the rest of the comic.
  • Crack Pairing: In one strip, Crookshanks and McGonagall get intimate with each other. While they both look like cats, one is a witch turned into a cat, whereas the other is an animal. A magical, smarter-than-average animal, but still an animal.
  • Crosses the Line Twice: The strip where Peeves shows Emily his "dingle bell". A man flashing a teenage girl should be more disturbing than funny - but the fact that he has a bell in place of his penis (that goes "ding ding ding") makes it hilarious.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Dobby and the Bloody Baron are two fan favorites for being clever re-interpretations of canon characters.
