YMMV / Mega Man X Revenge

• Narm: A lot of grammatical errors or oversimplified dialogue throughout the story, and how there's the extremely out-of-place Star Wars Shout-Out "may the force be with you" near the beginning of the Fictional Video Game might ruin what could be another attempt for a similar kind of story like NES Godzilla Creepypasta.
• Tear Jerker: The ending of the game. X has finally managed to defeat Sigma for good, but he starts succumbing to the virus shortly after. His body starts decaying as he mentions being able to reunite with his friends in the end. Ivan bursts into tears over this ending.
• The Woobie:
  • Ivan. The poor guy lost his brother long ago and then his best friend vanishes. Later, he is trapped by a cursed game which he is forced to beat or die trying. Even after beating it, he suffers misfortune as his father's video store has burned down with his father inside.
  • X himself ends up being this. He is infected with the same virus that causes Zero to become a sociopath and is forced to fight to survive, unable to even claim the powers of the maverick he beats. the sigma levels even have him forced to fight and kill past foes before eventually having to kill Zero and Axl. Finally, after a Hope Spot of finally killing Sigma once and for all, X succumbs to the virus and dies.
