- Suspiciously Similar Song: The background music in the Training Montage from the fourth movie sounds an awful lot like "Gonna Fly Now" from Rocky.
- Unintentional Period Piece: The fourth movie (released in 2005) has Stan being invited to 110%, a real life sports debate show that would later be cancelled in 2009. Not to mention this movie features several real life sports personalities, many of which, such as Guy Lafleur, have passed away in the years since then. Also, one of the sponsors whose logo is printed on the boards at one of the arenas is TQS, a TV channel from Quebec that would later be renamed V and then renamed again to Noovo.
