  • Franchise Original Sin: Team Invincible was the first to ditch 2D Flash animation in favor of CGI, a move heavily contested for KikoRiki series. However, the movies have executed it quite well and while the result doesn't reach Hollywood levels of impressive, the movies are still pleasant to look at, especially if you know that this was the best Russian animation could offer at the time. However, later projects, such as New Adventures, were made on a TV budget and heavy deadlines, resulting in CGI looking much worse.
  • Like You Would Really Do It: Would you really believe Wally wouldn't be able to get his body back in time in Legend of the Golden Dragon?
  • Older Than They Think: While the cast and the whole superhero thing keep this case from being too true, Team Invincible has a lot of plot points which originally appeared in Dunno on the Moon, the book released forty-five years prior. Namely, the plot takes turn for Darker and Edgier, having the group of characters from a seemingly isolated region arrive to a more technologically advanced city which turns out to be a Crapsaccharine World full of corruption and injustice. One of the group is briefly separated from others and gets arrested, then the climax has the protagonists break said character out of the prison and escape to their homeworld. One could even believe this was a Whole-Plot Reference.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character:
    • Some fans (including Sergey Lukyanenko, a long-time fan of KikoRiki who eventually wrote "Star Princess" for the Cinema series) thought that placing kind-hearted gardener Barry as an actor playing Lucien was a bad choice, and that Carlin, a character who was long established to have been a performer in the past, would have made a lot more sense.
    • The reoccurring problem of the trilogy is not being able to focus on all nine protagonists evenly, but Deja Vu makes pretty much everyone but Krash a wasted character. They don't do a lot across the whole film besides several gags, and are only here to be rescued by him and Shark. Carlin, Pin, and Rosa have it the worst, since the crew's attempt to find them is pushed to the very late parts of the movie and nothing of note happens to them anyway by virtue of being found as soon as they are teleported to the Wild West.
