YMMV / John Stewart

Go To

  • Archive Panic: Particularly once he got his own record label up and running, he started releasing all kinds of projects: studio albums, live albums, concept albums. You can divide his career into the 10 albums he released from 1968-79, then the dozens more he did after that.
  • Covered Up:
    • "Daydream Believer" became a big hit for The Monkees in 1967 and Anne Murray in 1980. Stewart didn't formally record his own version until 1971's The Lonesome Picker Rides Again.
    • Rosanne Cash recorded "Runaway Train" a few years after Stewart's original version.
  • First Installment Wins: California Bloodlines (1969), his first album as a solo performer, is usually considered his best.
