- Growing the Beard: The plotlines at the beginning are disjointed and the audience isn't shown enough to even understand much of anything. However, things start to actually make sense in episode 4 which begins to tie in several plotlines in a more coherent fashion.
- Retroactive Recognition: The memorably foul-mouthed little girl was played by Millie Bobby Brown, pre-head shaving.
- Vindicated by History: The show was a flop when it first aired and was cancelled quickly, only to be rediscovered after Stranger Things was released.
