YMMV / Gravity Falls - Dipper's Guide to the Unexplained

Go To

  • "Funny Aneurysm" Moment: In "Stan's Tattoo", Stan claims that that the mark on his back is not a tattoo. Turns out is really isn't; as revealed in "A Tale of Two Stans", it's a burn scar he got during a fight with his long-lost brother.
  • Genius Bonus: As mentioned below, the Hide-behind is a "real" legend, steaming from old Logger-men fables. To whom did the Pines go to ask about the hide behind?
  • Older Than They Think: Many Youtube comments note that the Hide-Behind seems a lot like a Gravity Falls version of the Slenderman. There actually is, however, a folktale about the Hide-Behind, though Gravity Falls does take some liberties (it's a bear-like creature that could suck in its stomach, for one).

How well does it match the trope?
