• Badass Decay: Went from having a nearly year-long undefeated streak to being a jobber.
• Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: The fact that he was still working all the way up to the end of 2010, even under the same ring name that was considered a bad joke more than 20 years ago (see below), earned him a moderate degree of respect and affection. The announcement that he would be entering the Casino Battle Royale at All Elite Wrestling's Double of Nothing show was greeted with surprise, but it was pleasant surprise rather than "You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!" surprise, and while the gimmick is still considered Narm, it's ascended to Narm Charm by now.
• The Scrappy: Being hyped for months and then showing up with no overall feud or storyline, because of how the nWo took precedence over everything, did not help him at all. While he does have some fans today, he's pretty much written off as a dud to this day by some people.
• Suspiciously Similar Song: His first theme is very close to the Mortal Kombat theme. It was changed after a couple of months, possibly due to this reason.
