• Crosses the Line Twice: This is what they were probably going for with Bender's apron at the beginning, which says "Heil to the chef".
• Informed Wrongness: While she's caged and waiting to be eaten by Lrrr, Leela angrily tells Fry and Bender that the situation is all their fault, and that they're the ones who should be getting eaten because they carried on eating Popplers even while she was trying to save them. Except that's not what happened at all — neither Fry nor Bender ate any Popplers after Leela first warned them that they were intelligent (Bender admittedly tried to force-feed her some, but it happened before Jrrr demonstrated beyond any possible doubt that he was intelligent), and Fry campaigned just as hard against further consumption of Popplers as she did. All of this is ignoring the fact that Leela was the first one to eat them (something they point out in scenes leading up to it). It's almost like the writers were so used to Fry being a screw-up and Leela being the Only Sane Woman that they forgot that this time around, all three were equally culpable. Although this may be because Leela is in a bad mood due to being the one who gets eaten.
• Harsher in Hindsight: The episode features an Animal Wrongs Group protesting meat consumption, with Leela pointing out that animals eat other animals and then shown a lion who was taught to eat tofu... with the lion in a very, very malnourished state. The 2010's brings us the disturbing trend of vegan pet owners forcing their pets onto vegan diets.
• Ugly Cute:

• Woolseyism: Due to the Finnish words for "tasty" and "testicles" not resembling each other at all, the subtitles on Disney+ instead make a clever wordplay involving the Finnish words for "rock" and "testicles", since they start with the same three letters.^note Rock translates as "Kivi", and testicles translates as "Kivekset". As such, Bender instead suggests the name because he thinks popplers go well with rocks, integrating Bender's earlier fascination with cooking rocks as a Call-Back.
