YMMV / Futago no Teikoku

• Cut Short: Went on hiatus due to Kitoh undergoing surgery in 2019, and then again due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As of 2023, it's yet to be resumed.
• Deliberate Values Dissonance: The characters have some very 1930s-esque values.
• Spiritual Successor: To Kitoh's discontinued manga Owari to Hajimari no Miles. Both take place in fantasy settings, have two main protagonists (one of them male, the other female), and involve flying vehicles of various kinds (including World War II fighters).
• Win Back the Crowd: After a number of series that either did not perform well or were outright cancelled, Futago no Teikoku has been described as Kitoh's big return to form, seeing as it features many of the same elements (the cruel nature of humanity, flight as a visual motif, scenes of violence involving children and teens) as his earlier hits.
