  • Awesome Music: As noted in the end-of-chapter notes for Chapter 27, the author envisions "Dark Sun (Spanish Electro Arrange)" as the theme for Akechi's Dungeon and the more emotional "Reincarnation Remix" of "I'll Face Myself" as Shadow Akechi's boss theme.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Persona 5 Tactica features a character who is actually a unique Persona who can shift between her Cognition/Shadow hybrid form to her Ernesto Persona form. In this fic the concept of Shadow Akechi switching freely between Shadow and Persona forms was thought up at least several months before Tactica came out.
  • Moe: Nanako is every bit as sweet and cheerful as she is in the original game. It's little wonder that she's the first person Akechi warms up to.
  • Realism-Induced Horror: Akechi's state at the beginning of the story is a disturbingly realistic portrayal of a child from an abusive and neglectful household. From his black eye and frail build to the bruises scattered across his arms; to say nothing of the fact that his foster parents would regularly lock him out of the house as punishment for being an "ungrateful brat". Worst of all is just how accustomed Akechi is to being treated like this.
  • Signature Scene: Akechi's Dungeon, which serves as both the culmination of Akechi's involvement in the events of Persona 4 and a significant moment of development in his character arc.
  • The Woobie:
    • Like in canon, Goro Akechi has an incredibly traumatic past. An illegitimate child born to a sex worker, he discovered his mother's suicide at the age of five and had spent years being cycled through orphanages and foster homes, many of which were abusive. By the age of twelve, Akechi is the very epitome of The Cynic.
    • Poor Saki Konishi gets more characterization prior to her death. As if the experience of discovering a dead body wasn't traumatic enough, the poor girl also gets accosted by news reporters who press her for details whilst disregarding her obvious distress. And then she ends up getting sexually harassed by a detective who then throws her into the Midnight Channel, where she suffers a violent death at the hands of her own Shadow.
