YMMV / Fate/Grand Order Final Singularity - Grand Temple of Time: Solomon

Go To

  • Alternate Character Interpretation: When Goetia asks Ritsuka why he fights, Ritsuka's answer, to live is taken at face value as someone who was just fighting not to die, which fits the theme of the movie. However, it's entirely possible Goetia took that to its worst possible interpretation thanks to his poor view of humanity. Ritsuka could've meant, "To live so my Servants can do their jobs!" which works with what little canon characterization we've gotten for the protagonist.
  • Broken Base: As noted under They Changed It, Now It Sucks!, many fans are sore about how many Servants only get non-voiced cameos. It REALLY doesn't help that Nero, (who's already a Base-Breaking Character), got lines while many other popular characters didn't. While some say it ruins the whole movie, others are far more accepting thanks to how much it would take for EVERYONE to be voiced.
  • Heartwarming Moments
    • Mash finally getting to see a bright and clear sky
    • The post-credits scene with Da Vinci musing that Solomon never really got his wish to live as a normal human but Romani Archaman achieved his wish to save humanity.
  • Tearjerker: Carrying over from Fate/Grand Order
    • Mash dying to protect Fujimaru from Goetia's Noble Phantasm, with only her shield left behind as a lone testament to her sacrifice.
    • Dr. Roman/the true Solomon's ultimate sacrifice in wiping himself from existence with Ars Nova to strip Goetia of his stolen power. It remains just as heart-wrenching as ever to lose him.
    • On the return to Chaldea, Mash and Fujimaru see Romani's nametag hanging on his chair in the control room. A quiet reminder of his absence that visibly shakes them both with Da Vinci's sad smile adding to the bittersweetness of their victory.
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: Once again, any Servant not named Mash is quickly booted from the Singularity. While it makes sense (This IS the culmination of Mash's character arc after all) Some people are still annoyed popular Servants don't get a role. It really doesn't help that ALL of the Event Servants except Dantes, Extra Vlad, and Fuuma Kotaro are Adapted Out.
