  • Hilarious in Hindsight: In the movie, one of the characters A possesses is played by Jacob Batalon. Batalon would later play the boyfriend of Angourie Rice's character in Spider Man: Far from Home
  • Jerkass Woobie: Nathan can come across as this, as he spends most of the book describing A as some kind of monster. His views are justified, though, as he is understandably freaked out that someone else has taken control of his body, and nearly everyone else is ridiculing him for it. Ultimately, what he wants is answers to what happened to him. When he gets those answers, he backs off his quest for vengeance.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot:
    • It would have been neat (and maybe put a damper on temporary romantic feelings) if A had ever been in the body of Rhiannon's sister, though such a thing is unlikely as A has only ever been the same age as Rhiannon.
    • After A has to run away due to his latest body having been planning to go to Hawaii, he promises to try and fix things with that boys life after his parents are left with some serious parental worries, but (at least in the film) it's never shown how he does this.
  • Trilogy Creep: Every Day and Another Day (from Rhiannon's point of view) was followed up with a sequel titled Someday, which was released in 2018.
