  • Ho Yay:
    • Between Xiri and Snowe. It's been lampshaded several times, in the game and in Fleeting, that Xiri is rather obsessed with Snowe. It shows.
    • Another is in Permanence between Erio and Snowe. It's very much implied that Snowe might be holding feelings for Erio especially in chapter 18 when Snowe straight up kisses Erio. Funny this happens only after Soan tells Snowe to pretty much go after what he wants for once. There are also many things that happen in Permenence that are questioned about how Snowe and Erio feel about eachother
  • The Woobie:
    • Snowe. If he had a hard life in the game, it's only gotten worse since then. Horrible scars, everyone he knows is dead, well, almost everyone at any rate, and he's the one who killed them, the one other person to survive hates him now, and in order to fix everything he has to trap Xiri within himself again. This has bad consequences down the road.
    • Hiante in Fleeting. The kids he raised as his own for ten years were brutally murdered in front of him, and it's made him a very bitter man. When you consider that he lost his family in his former life too—he died and his wife and daughter were left to an uncertain and potentially very violent fate—it just makes it worse.
    • Canan and Rhea in Fleeting, particularly Rhea, when they learn that Esmeralda, who had been pretty much a mother figure to them, died because she dared try to protect them by sending them away.
    • Soria. Her little brother whom she was pretty much raising got himself lost, was unable to come home, and only tried to contact her once in ten years. In Fleeting he went and died to boot. (Thankfully in Permanence he finally pays her a visit.)
    • Xiri in Fleeting. You really can't help but feel sorry for him; being cooped up for so long made him crazy and he killed a ton of people out of desperation. You could see that he was truly, deeply sorry for what he did and that he wanted to fix it, but Snowe saw that it just wasn't possible. So Snowe had to consume his core to trap Xiri inside himself. AGAIN. Poor guy's had a hard existence.
    • Even Snowe's parents qualify as Jerkass Woobies after it's revealed that Lina was locked in a tower because of a Self-Fulfilling Prophecy and once she finally got out and married Edgar, the Lords ruined her kingdom and prevented her from giving birth. When Rizec implies that he only spared them to prolong their suffering, one can't help but feel sorry for this evil couple.
