YMMV / DuckTales (2017) S1 E19 "The Other Bin of Scrooge McDuck!"

Go To

  • Alternative Character Interpretation: Some fans like to entertain the idea that Huey and Dewey knew Gavin was not all he seemed and acted the way they did just to mess with Louie. This also helps to explain why Huey and Dewey, who are both very perceptive in their own rights, did not seem to see through Gavin's con at all.
  • He Really Can Act: Kimiko Glenn (Lena), Kate Micucci (Webby), and Catherine Tate (Magica) really hit the voice acting out of the ballpark in this episode. From Magica's verbal abuse, to Webby's screams of agony, to Lena's Big "NO!"... the word "wow" is an understatement and their performances are widely regarded as a major reason the episode is considered one of season one's best.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: The fact that Scrooge has an actual place he locks up particularly dangerous things means that the "ancient evils" the kids released in the pilot were apparently not considered that big a threat by him.
  • Like You Would Really Do It: Magica regaining her power before the season finale and Webby dying? Not surprisingly, it turns out to be All Just a Dream.
  • Moral Event Horizon: Gavin/Tenderfeet for threatening a child who is like an ant compared to him.
  • Trapped by Mountain Lions: The B-plot with the triplets and Tenderfeet/Gavin. It doesn't impact the main plot at all (other than Scrooge giving up the search for the attempted dime thief when he finds Gavin), and several fans dislike it for giving Huey and Dewey the Jerkass Ball.
