- Ensemble Dark Horse: Dracula's giant mantis form that shows up in one scene quickly became the most popular part of the movie. For all the wrong reasons.
- Narm: Any moment supposed to be scary or serious misses the mark, such as:
- Lucy's father trying to make his daughter show what she's hiding from him.
- Lucy's goofy reaction to the improvised cross, courtesy of Asia's lovely performance.
- The freaking CGI Mantis.
- Nightmare Retardant: Many moments meant to be scary in the movie instead comes across as either cringeworthy or laughable due to both actor performances and poor visual effects.
- Signature Scene: The CGI giant mantis coming out of nowhere is very likely to be the most impressive scene.
- Special Effects Failure: All over the place in the movie. Being advertised and filmed in 3-D doesn't help matters. Some highlights include:
- The opening credits.
- The appearance of Dracula as an owl.
- Dracula knocking away Tania after catching her with Harker. It's obvious her body is a 3D model.
- Lucy's being burned after being struck by a lantern.
- The giant mantis.
