YMMV / Disney High School

Go To

  • Alternative Character Interpretation: Invoked with Frollo; Word of God leaves it to the readers to decide whether the "guilt" he felt when he adopted Quasimodo was guilt over a child left behind or guilt over (possibly) murdering the child's mother.
    • Also with regards to Frollo: is he genuinely oblivious regarding Gothel's kidnapping of Rapunzel, or is he aware and in denial?
  • Crossover Ship: Gothel and Frollo. All of the students seem to be heading toward their Official Couples, but Kuzco and Naveen have both flirted with Jasmine, and Jim has a crush on Ariel. Also, in this universe, Hans is apparently the ex-boyfriend who left Megara jaded.
  • Iron Woobie: Quasi's entire point in this comic is to either be AWESOME himself, or allow others to be AWESOME by standing up for him. It's a win-win for all.
  • Squick: A lot of Frollo and Gothel's interactions are more disturbing than sentimental.
  • Tear Jerker: This comic shows how horrible Frollo and Gothel's parenting is as they criticize poor Quasi and Rapunzel just because they want to be in the talent show.
  • Unexpected Character: Two examples:
    • Many readers were pleasantly surprised to see that Jessica Rabbit is the school's nurse—when asked about it, Word of God confirmed that she is married to Roger in this AU, but explains that he won't be appearing in the comic proper.
    • Given how unsure the author was about doing it, many readers were also surprised to see Ursula show up in the comics, let alone as Vanessa's mom (rather than having them be the same person like in the original movie)—Ursula makes her first appearance in the 73rd-comic in the series.
