YMMV / Dinotopia (Miniseries)

• Awesome Music: Trevor Jones score is one of the more memorable parts of the mini series.
• Ensemble Dark Horse: Zippo is regarded by many who remember the miniseries as being the best character and the show's saving grace, owing to his kind & Endearingly Dorky personality that overshadows the overall more bland characterization of the rest of the cast. It doesn't hurt that he's the only dino who features consistently in the show's run.
• Fanon: For some reason many fans seem to think that Marion's family name is Waldo. It's actually Seville, Waldo is her father's first name.
  • Interestingly this has gotten so bad that some streaming services believe this to be fact as well.
• Retroactive Recognition: Wentworth Miller as David.
• So Okay, It's Average: The miniseries. Passable story, decent special effects, and David Thewlis is enjoyable as main villain Cyrus Crabb (confusing motivation aside), but that's all it has going for it, especially if you're a fan of British comedian Lee Evans who is wasted as the talking dinosaur Zippo.
• Special Effects Failure: The only decent-looking dinosaur in the TV miniseries is 26, and this is probably because they use practical effects with her as often as they use CGI. The rest of the dinosaurs are at best mediocre and at worst butt-ugly.
