• Broken Base:
  • Strimell vs. the new vocalist "Stoffe" Andersson would certainly get fans arguing about who among them is the better vocalist.
  • Also, their older metalcore sound vs. the new Boy Band - esque style.
• It's Popular, Now It Sucks!: The band was overhyped from the very start, and it seems that their hatedom among the metal fanbase will just keep on growing bigger, now that they have taken a more Boy Band-oriented direction music-wise.
  • They're so disliked by metal fans that they aren't even covered by metal blogs, though this could be because of their intended demographic.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: Clean vocalist Zandro Santiago once said in an interview: "Dead by April is a mix of metal and boy band pop. Metal fans may not handle it properly." Needless to say (see above), he was right, though he could also have been poking fun at the closemindedness of metalheads.
• Periphery Demographic: Their Boy Band influence has earned them a staggering amount of young female fans, especially in their home country. The band don't really seem to mind, though.
