YMMV / Club de cuervos

  • Adorkable: There are numerous characters who fit this trope. Prominent examples include Hugo Sánchez, Tony, el Pepenador, and even Chava at times.
  • Alternative Character Interpretation:
    • Is Aitor just Axel's idol, or is there something more going on?
    • Zombie's actions throughout the final season (deliberately ignoring his doctor's advice and not taking his medication) puts his death in a different light. Is it an inevitable, necessary sacrifice that he comes to accept throughout the season, or does he actually just want to die?
  • Diagnosed by the Audience: Isabel takes medication for an unspecified mental health disorder. Eventually has a meltdown after Chava learns that she and her father were plotting to keep the Cuervos in Puebla and breaks off their engagement after proposing only moments before.
  • Ho Yay: Given this is a TV show about a soccer team filled with attractive men who spend a lot of time together being affectionate with each other, examples abound.
    • Aitor Cardoné with pretty much every man he encounters, including Chava and El Potro amongst others. The entire team expresses (sometimes begrudging) admiration for his good looks.
    • Félix and Goyo (who could also be considered Heterosexual Life-Partners).
    • Chava and Hugo Sánchez (though more from Hugo than Chava).
    • Chava and Rafa at least until Chava drops him for Aitor and the Iglesias siblings ruin his reputation.
    • El Potro and all of his teammates when they see him in tight pants.
  • Spiritual Successor: Arguably has one in Ted Lasso, a Lighter and Softer take on the trials and tribulations of a soccer team that is undergoing major leadership upheavals. Both the Cuervos and Richmond FC of Ted Lasso even have the same first-season plot element of facing relegation to a lower league.
  • The Woobie: Arguably, the Cuervos fans in Nuevo Toledo and the team itself, who have not seen a championship in decades due to the Curse of the Black Feather.
    • Felix, in the span of one season he loses his boss, who was also a good friend of his, and has to deal with the systematic destruction of the team he's been a part of for 25 years, while being blocked either by Chava's idiocy or by Eliseo's intervention After Chava yells and humiliates him, he regretfully quits as vice-president.
