• Complete Monster:
  • Sheriff George Dunne, one of the leaders of Kettle Springs, came up with a scheme to put the town back on the map; finding the younger generation of the town hateful, with their emphasis on social media, Dunne puts together a conspiracy to have the adults dress up as town mascot Frendo the Clown and murder the teens. Slaughtering a large percentage of the town's population in one night, Dunne escapes to return as a kindly authority figure as he plans to kill any survivors and also frame them for the killings, while hanging the hero Cole Hill to make it appear a suicide.
  • Alec Murray is one of the three masterminds, alongside Dunne and Arthur Hill, of the Frendo conspiracy. A "terminally basic" man who keeps his wife in the dark about his murderous appetites, Murray personally and brutally kills his way through dozens of innocent teenagers, and knowingly allows his stepdaughter Janet to get swept up in the Frendo hordes and die.
• The Woobie:
  • Poor Quinn. First, her mother dies from a drug overdose. She moves to a new town where she doesn't quite fit in. She then gets roped in with a group of her classmates when they get in trouble even though she didn't do anything herself, already getting her off on the wrong foot. Then, things go From Bad to Worse when a group of killer clowns start attacking and murdering people, including her new friends. She's forced to Take a Level in Badass and kill them in self-defense, which almost surely will give her PTSD.
  • Cole as well. Long before the story starts, his mother dies of cancer. He hosts a party where his sister falls to her death, which his father then blames him for. Traumatized by this this, he eventually sets fire to the town's grain mill. However, it all comes to a head when the murderous Frendos start to kill his peers. He's then kidnapped and informed that his father is one of the masterminds of the entire event and then he plans to kill his son. Luckily, Quinn comes to his rescue and he's subsequently able to begin a relationship with his childhood friend.
