- Fanfic Fuel: An older Tyler coming back to have his powers unbound was common in fanfic plots that featured him. He later came back in the comics.
- Fridge Horror:
- As the Firestarters are raised to be bodyguards for the Source, how many of the fire-wielding enemies that the sisters vanquished have really been corrupted Firestarters?
- The comics reveal that Tyler is not actually a Firestarter, but something far more powerful called an Archai, fire-elemental reality warpers that can open portals to any location on any plane of existence. The idea of the Source having that kind of power is terrifying.
- They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Tyler never made another appearance on the series, despite his potential. By contrast, he appeared in nineteen issues of the comic series and got featured in a tie-in novelisation.
- What Do You Mean, It's Not Symbolic?: Phoebe's subplot could be interpreted as a commentary on how the Feminist Fantasy has evolved over the years. Bewitched was Phoebe's role model for a typical marriage - and served as the template for a lot of supernatural comedies. It was long argued that the show was reactionary - by featuring a witch happily suppressing her magic to please her husband. Then shows such as this and Buffy the Vampire Slayer depicted powerful women using their magic to fight evil - making Bewitched's values look incredibly dated.
