  • Arc Fatigue: Kabutomushi fighting the Stag Beetle sisters is pretty much Dinoponera's arc all over again, which is not helped by how the story follows about four plot lines at once. Once the chapter count surpassed that of Arachnid, it made the latter quarter of that story look kind of rushed in comparison.
  • Crosses the Line Twice: The story portrays Osamu Tezuka as a zealous assassin who nukes himself to sink a ship full of V.I.P.s in the service of a criminal syndicate led by an ageless little girl who brainwashed Hideki Tojo to let Hiroshima and Nagasaki get nuked on purpose as a means of Population Control. This is all framed like a honest homage to the cartoonist and his works.
  • Heartwarming Moments: Hanakamakiri's farewell letter to Imomushi, in which he explains he feels like a traitor for making a deal with Suzumebachi to help Alice become the new Boss in exchange for Imomushi's safety. He writes an Anguished Declaration of Love and promises to use his newfound influence to prevent her from being targeted and manipulated by the Organization any more.
  • Narm: The Arachnid series in its entirety has a page for this trope, though its edgy nonsense is often why it is enjoyed in the first place.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Curiously, we never find out anything about Paraponera's relationship with his adopted daughter Dinoponera from his perspective.
  • The Un-Twist: The Big Bad is actually Imomushi's own sister with a few screws loose. Other than it being an obvious twist to have, she and the woman who she replaced are lookalikes.
