  • Broken Base: Are they a grunge or a post-grunge band?
  • First Installment Wins: Sixteen Stone is considered their best album, and it's their most successful one overall.
  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: The band had far greater success in the United States than in their home country, as grunge was still somewhat popular in the US and the rise of Britpop in the United Kingdom made it difficult for the band to have bigger mainstream success there.
  • Song Association: Need for Speed fans might be fond of "The People That We Love" thanks to its appearance in Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2.
  • They Copied It, So It Sucks!: With the mainstream breakthrough with Sixteen Stone, the band has become the poster child for the commodification of grunge, being derided as shameless Nirvana copycats by music critics and the fans of the genre, to the point that lumping the band with the original grunge bands is considered a Berserk Button to them. This in turn led them to become one of the first bands to be pejoratively called "post-grunge". The band themselves admit Nirvana's influence in their music but also say that they had their own thing as well.
