- Fridge Brilliance: Shaz's Race Lift from being a vampire to being a ghoul seems kind of arbitrary until you find out that 'ghoul' in Arabic is sometimes slang for a gluttonous person. Definitely suitable for the series' resident Big Eater.
- Fridge Logic: Murray, who almost exclusively dresses in shades of red and pink, is colorblind. This raises two questions - why would he want to dress in colors that he physically can't see, and how does he pick the clothes in the first place?
- One-Scene Wonder: Shaun is only in two strips, but they're two of the funniest strips in the comic.
- Squick:
- Ghouls can only turn into people they've eaten a part of , so how does Murray get Shaz to replace him at work for a day? By feeding them his tonsils.
- There's a whole strip called 'Barf'. Guess what the punchline involves.
- What Do You Mean, It's Not Didactic?: This comment
on one of the earlier strips.
