- Demonic Spiders: Of the three troublesome customers, Mister Roach is by far the most annoying to deal with. Not only is he smaller than the others, he's much faster as well, meaning that trying to tap on him won't do anything most of the time. A fully upgraded Timmy has a hard time catching up with him as well, meaning that for as long as Mister Roach is around, everything has to stop just to frantically get rid of him. Whenever he suddenly pops up, hope he doesn't beeline towards a high-paying customer, otherwise they'll leave immediately without paying, as well as potentially causing a stove to be unavailable for a period of time.
- Friendly Fandoms: The Animal Restaurant and Tsuki Adventure fandoms often get along swimmingly, due to both games being pretty easygoing in their gameplay, both featuring talking animals, and both having heavy influences from Asian cultures. The titular character Tsuki even can appear as a customer in Animal Restaurant!
- Most Wonderful Sound: The shing! that happens when you unlock a new customer or item is quite satisfying.
- Shocking Moments: With the other troublesome customers (the thief and the skunk), you only need to tap on them until they go away, and the game in general is non-violent. So it can be quite shocking the first time you tap Mr. Roach to get rid of him and he ends up splatted.
- That One Level: The Mew-chelin Judging Event has been noted to be particularly grueling by many players. Even though the event allows the players several weeks to complete the tasks, the tasks are difficult even for veteran players with high requirements for everything. The most glaring examples of this would be the requirements to catch fish (with one level requiring around 40 clownfish) and the task to play the Game Machine 40 times, even though it is only available once per day with few exceptions. The fifth and seventh levels require gambling with the mouse 25 and 35 times, respectively. It's notoriously difficult.
- That One Sidequest:
- The "Serve [x] amount of [y]" daily task is by far the most frustrating one to deal with, especially in the late-game where a good chunk of customers are unlocked. The game is limited to picking common customers for the task, but the more customers you have unlocked, the more likely that someone else come to the restaurant instead of the one you need. Expect this to be the last daily task before you get the reward of 25 stars.
- Interacting with the Skunk, Cod-Stealing Rabbit, or Card-Playing Mouse shouldn't be hard on paper, but it takes a turn due to how long it takes for a Special Customer to spawn in, and it's not guaranteed that it's the one you need. Expect to leave the game running for a while just for them to show up.
- Viewer Gender Confusion: Some characters are prone to having their genders mistaken by players due to the game's artstyle not making most of the animal characters outwardly masculine or feminine. Additionally, most staff members have wearable Mementos that include items from both sides of the gender spectrum, and the game's translation occasionally mixes up the pronouns of the characters in dialogue.
- In Dori and Jiji's cases, this is because their names read as feminine to Anglophone players.
- Hedwig sometimes has her gender mistaken by people who aren't familiar with Harry Potter or check her description, as her name and appearance aren't particularly evocative of either gender.
- Apricat is often confused as male due to her appearance and name being unisex, as well as being one of two staff members who are not referred to with gendered pronouns in her description. She is shown wearing dresses in a few event loading screens, though.
- Ding gets hit with this the most, as she combines everything that makes Apricat hard (unisex name and appearance, no third person pronouns in her Flavor Text), as well as being referred to as a fisherman. Prior to an update, her description did refer to her in third person, but was referred to with masculine pronouns, likely leading to their removal. For the most part, the only pieces of dialogue that refer to her in the third person are exclusive to events, which does consistently refer to her as a girl.
