Little G goes on a quest through Monster Island in search of the perfect ingredients!
"Godzilla Jr. Makes A Burger'' is the first entry of the “Tales from Monster Island!” Web Animation series made by Youtube animator Quazies and based on the Godzilla franchise. Its premise revolves around Godzilla Jr. traveling around Monster Island trying to find ingredients to make himself a burger after dreaming about one the night before.

The short features no spoken dialogue, instead conveying the story largely through narration in the captions to accompany the characters' actions.

It also spawned sequels with a similar format: Anguirus' Vacation, Gigan's Big Score, and Rodan's Egg.

The video was released on July 16th, 2022 and can be watched here.

Godzilla Jr. Makes A Burger contains examples of:

  • All for Nothing: Subverted. While the ‘burger’ Junior makes with the ingredients he found tasted awful, he manages to beg his father to buy him one from a nearby coastal restaurant.

  • Cheerful Child: Unlike his larger, intimidating, and more serious father, Godzilla Jr. acts more friendly and excited about his adventure in trying to make his burger. Most other monsters seem to tolerate him pretty well too.

  • Delicious Day Dream: Godzilla Jr. dreams of eating a hamburger one stormy night even making him accidentally eat sand, kicking off his inspiration to find the ingredients the next day to make one himself.

  • Early-Installment Weirdness: Unlike the later shorts, this one does not feature a Freeze-Frame Introduction for any of the kaiju. Some monsters are also noticably drawn much rounder than in later entries as well.

  • Giant Food: Upon Godzilla ordering a burger at a coastal restaurant, the burger employee makes one much bigger than herself. Justified since a human-sized burger would be way too small for a kaiju.

  • Good Parents: While he doesn’t appear for a majority of the short, Godzilla is shown to be towards his son one despite his imposing demeanor.

    • During a thunderstorm at night, he curls his tail to comfort a scared Godzilla Jr.

    • He also leaves a fish behind for his son to eat and even buys him the hamburger he was craving for, smiling as Jr enjoys his food and patting him on the head.

  • Lazy Bum: Spacegodzilla appears to be this as he's sleeping while surrounded by a mess of beer cans, cigarettes, and other garbage. Though he did have a sign threatening all intruders with incineration.

  • Oh, Crap!: Godzilla Jr. has this expression upon accidentally waking up Spacegodzilla after grabbing a tomato he needed. Thankfully, he managed to get away before trouble could hit.
