Tuco goes on to become Calvera from The Magnificent Seven.
Think about it. At the end of the movie Tuco is left with a fortune, but no way to easily get it out, and no change in his character. He could maybe get away with one bag of gold but probably no more. So he either hides the rest to come back for or loses it. In the first case perhaps he finds a group of bandits who he manages to intimidate into not robbing him. He then enlists their help in exchange for some gold. Ultimately if this was a large group it would be almost pointless splitting it among them and he might not be able to double cross them. If this were the case Tuco would be better off using the gold to help make himself their leader. He then goes south of the border and renames himself to avoid the U.S. army (and maybe Blondie). The cost of maintaining a small army then bleeds away his fortune. If he loses most of the gold before he assembles his crew he still has enough to hire on some help. Then with some successful jobs he could gather the army seen in The Magnificent Seven. It's worth noting that the 2016 remake of The Magnificent Seven is set in the 1870's so the original could take place after the events of this film.
