The PC version will have...
...the Space Core floating around the galaxy. Acquiring it and escorting it to the center of the galaxy will get you a hidden achievement.
  • Jossed for now, though with the release of Expeditions, this may be a viable task. All we need is for Valve and Hello Games to collab, and we'll be set.

Toward the center of the galaxy will be...
... similiar to the New World, with players forming coalitions to keep others from reaching the center of the galaxy. One of the systems nearest the center will be a war zone with pieces of wrecked players floating around. It will be awesome.

Galaxy center is a portal to another galaxy.
Perhaps as a New Game Plus.
  • Confirmed. Reaching the center transports you to the next galaxy in the sequence.

The Atlas is a Universal Consciousness.
From what footage I've seen of PS4 gameplay, the Atlas found next to the crashed ship communicates with the player directly. From developer posts, I know that the Atlas also acts as a universal database; collecting, storing, and presumably categorizing all sorts of information, ranging from star charts to insignificant rodent-like creatures on backwater worlds. While this could simply be an enormous AI, if the player accepts the Atlas's help during the tutorial, the game states that the character 'feels a sense of purpose'. Knowing what I do of the Atlas, what better explanation is there than a Universal Consciousness ensuring that it's servant is content in it's role?
  • Kinda confirmed. The universe of No Man's Sky is a simulation, and the Atlas is the AI running the whole thing.

Atlas is responsible for the plague found in the abandoned buildings
So far, many of the entries I have come across speak of a "red sphere" in the corner of people's eyes. Now tell me, what do we know of that looks like a red sphere?

The Sentinels were made on Earth
Given that it's said the Sentinels destroyed their creators and that Earth isn't even mentioned in the game, it's easy to come to this conclusion.
  • Confirmed, sort of. The Sentinels were created by the Atlas, which is really just an AI on an Earth computer running NMS as a simulation.

-null- is the Traveler from a previous universe
It's mentioned that there's a bit of Eternal Recurrence when it comes from each iteration of the universe, and certain things described in the Boundary Failure logs depict -null- as having started out with similarities to the player. It's possible this includes individual beings, and thus -null- and the player are the same person, just in different versions of the universe making different choices.
  • Confirmed. -null- was the first Traveller, and the player is the last. There have been many between, all of them based on the same brain-scan of the Atlas's creator.

-null- is not their original name.
All of the other Travellers in the game are named for Greek deities. It seems likely that -null- was the same originally, but part of their punishment was their name being stricken from the Atlas's memory, which meant that no-one could remember it. -null- is actually an error message, saying that there's a NULL value in the name field.
  • As for their original name... my guess would be Zeus, or possibly Ouranos, given their comment that "the sky was mine" (another sign of their hubris, given the game's title).
