     Pre-Release
The Mother Witch killed her coven to become omnipotent.
It would explain why she is saddened by them not being there and her insistence for Winnie to never use the spell. Shes know the price for power and knows it should instead be shared between a coven. It also explains why she is still around. The magica maxima spell may have given her omnipotence and eternal life, and she may only need to feed on kids to keep her youth and beauty.
  • The Mother Witch's eyes also glow purple when she first attacks the Young Sanderson Sisters, much like how their eyes glow purple when casting the Magica Maxima spell.

The film will joke about the three witches looking older.
It would be hilarious to see Winnie get frustrated about how they look 29 years older, especially after they had spent all of the last film trying to retain their youth. Maybe they'll even explain why they don't look as young as they did in The '90s?
  • Jossed. Their physical appearances are never addressed.

The film will also joke about Mary being thinner.
Kathy Najimy's dramatic weight loss will get some kind of funny Hand Wave.
  • Jossed.

The Sandersons will react to today's generation of witches.
Nowadays, the practice of witchcraft is quite common amongst young people. Even the main characters hold a candlelit ritual. The fun of the joke will be the Sandersons reacting to how much witchcraft has changed over the centuries.
  • Jossed.

The witches will not be the real villains this time around.
Later in the film, they'll pull a Heel–Face Turn after someone much worse is introduced.
  • The witch (played by Hannah Waddingham) that gave the sisters the book as children may be the Greater-Scope Villain who returns and is fought by the Sandersons along with the protagonists.
  • It's possible that the witch in question is the reason the sisters were driven from their home to begin with. If that's the case any remaining rage or hatred they have for the villagers will be turned towards her when this is revealed.
  • Jossed. While other villains are introduced in the prologue (the Reverend and the Mother Witch), the Sandersons are still the main threat. Winnie does get a Heel–Face Turn at the end, though.

The Witches could have a Heel–Face Turn
Well, since it doesn’t look like they’re doing a completely villainous things at least, there is a possibility that the three of them, two, or one, could pull a Heel–Face Turn.
  • Confirmed. Winifred gives up her powers to be with her sisters again. She exits the film on good terms with the teenagers.

Max, Dani, and Allison will have a cameo.
Bonus points if they actually meet the Sandersons again. Note: Sadly, Thora Birch is unable to appear due to scheduling conflicts, so Dani may be recast.

Winifred will learn from her mistakes.
Winifred won't make the same Revenge Before Reason Fatal Flaw she made when she decided to target Dani for calling her "ugly", which ended up costing her and her sisters what little time they had left.
  • Confirmed. She actually has a line about it.
Winifred: Lay thy burden down. 'Tis unattractive to hold a grudge!

The deleted candy crow subplot from the first movie will be restored.
It may be the reason why the sisters are shopping in Walgreens.
  • Jossed. The witches only go to Walgreens because they think the beauty products are potions.

     Sequel Theories
Hocus Pocus 3's villains will be the coven of the Mother Witch vs. the Sanderson Sisters and Becca's Coven.
Since there's another black flame candle, the Sandersons can likely be revived from wherever they are. If Mother Witch also sacrificed her coven to attain such power, she can also bring them back to. The Sandersons, having likely been redeemed and turned good, will probably be ready to help Becca and her coven deal with the witches.

The Sandersons are in neither Heaven nor Hell
The afterlife bureaucracy will spend ages trying to decide which destination they belong in, and whether their sisterly bond cancels out their wicked ways. Once the Black Flame Candle lights and they escape, representatives from one or both destinations will follow them into the mortal world and lead to more hijinks.

Possible New Threats
Since The Sanderson Sisters are now redeemed by the Sequel, it is likely that with presumably The Mother Witch, there will be Possible Threats that might be coming after Book.

  • The Mother Witch
  • Satan

Possible Spin-offs that might be announced or teased for the future
With Hocus Pocus 2 now ending up with two Sequel Hints such as Mother Witch in her crow form, and another spell on how the Sanderson Witches will return again, it is possible that there will be spin-offs of Hocus Pocus.

  • The Sanderson Sisters
  • Cassie and her friends
  • Bily Butcherson, as well as the zombies.

Possible Enemies who might become Arch-Enemies of the Witch Trio
Since the Sanderson Witches only serve as Evil Counterparts to the girls from the sequel, it is likely that the girls will have each separately have three enemies who will be their Arch-Enemy.

Possible Ideas on who might summon the Sanderson Sisters next
Since there is now another possibility on how The Sanderson Sisters can be summoned again, they’ll likely be summoned by someone else next.

  • An teenage girl who is an orphan to lost her parents.
