Said son being an Expy of both Metal Gear's Solid Snake and will also have elements of Mass Effect's Ashley Williams. Matt's son would be kind of the opposite of his dad in terms of the following:
Matt is fine with just about anyone with a vagina and two boobs, where-as Matt's son is a one-woman kind of guy.
Matt will openly flirt with just about any gal, whereas Matt's son would freak out if any girl other than his girlfriend even attempts to flirt with him.
Matt is fully aware that he is a video game character and is often Genre Savvy, whereas his son is completely oblivious to the fact that he's a video game character and is often Wrong Genre Savvy. Not that it stops his son from defeating opponents, of course.
Matt loves being famous, where-as his son hates his own fame.
Matt's games are typically one genre for each series, where-as his son's game serieses tend to mix up different genres together for each series that he is in.
Matt is cocky and arrogant, where-as his son is modest and pessimistic.
Matt is a bad boy, where-as his son is a goody-two shoes.
Matt's games are often humorous in the tone of the setting, where-as his son's games are often serious in terms of tone.
However, they are similar in the sense of:
They both are fine with having premarital sex.
Both love using guns. (Although, in the son's case, the aforementioned son loves using both weaponry and super-powers.)
Both are Expys of other video game characters.
Both are Politically Incorrect Heroes in different ways. (Matt in the sense that he is a chauvinist, whereas his son is a Fantastic Racist against mutants and aliens. Alternatively, Matt's son will be a Boomerang Bigot towards digital beings if he ever becomes aware that he’s a video game character, but for whatever reason comes to the conclusion that organic beings are superior to digital beings, ironically mirroring Wallace.)
Some of the in-universe video games in this game will become actual games eventually.
