vs. NEON is a Friday Night Funkin' Game Mod developed by CryoGX featuring Neon, the main character in CryoGX's own upcoming 2D platformer Advent Neon. The entire mod replaces Week 6 of the vanilla game with a brand new week with brand new songs and redone sprites for Boyfriend and Girlfriend, including a new variant for them in the final song.

Boyfriend and Girlfriend cross dimensions and end up in Central District from AdventNEON. There, they meet Neon, who Boyfriend is wanting to rap-battle. The Synthezoid, albeit initially confused about two humans being in Central District until they tell them they aren't from their world, is more than happy to accept Boyfriend's challenge.

The mod is currently going to have an expansion update.

Song List:

  1. HIGHRISE-F
  2. ORDINANCE-F
  3. TRANSGRESSION-F

vs. NEON provides examples of:

  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: Neon does this in the cutscene for "ORDINANCE-F" to advertise the game in which they come from, AdventNEON.
  • Friendly Enemy: Neon isn't very vicious towards Boyfriend and Girlfriend, even after becoming Max Neon, and is willing to accept the former's invitation to a rap battle, unlike most modded bosses that get angry or go One-Winged Angel.
  • One-Winged Angel: Downplayed. Reality distorting due to Boyfriend and Girlfriend's presence maxes out Neon's Resonance and changes them into Max Neon. Neon is surprised by this rather than angry, however, and is still on friendly terms with the two. However, they decides to do "TRANSGRESSION-F" as them and Boyfriend's last song.
  • Shout-Out: The forms Boyfriend and Girlfriend take on in "TRANSGRESSION-F" are named "Minus Boyfriend" and "Minus Girlfriend" respectively. This is an intentional reference to Friday Night Funkin' Minus.
  • Super Mode: In "TRANSGRESSION-F", Boyfriend becomes Minus Boyfriend, who gains different (and potentially more powerful) vocals.
