SPACE/MECH/PILOT is an Idle Game created by SKY HOUR WORKS for PC.

In this game, you play as a violent spaceship pilot flying throughout space, blasting enemy ships apart with an array of weapons.

Oh, and there's an adorable cat person as well.

Tropes to be found in the S/M/P Initiative.

  • Ability Required to Proceed: Sometimes, you have to boost your Social Stats to a certain level to progress the story. This culminates in the Universe Navigator, which you have to assemble yourself with four parts, only available for purchase once you max out their respective Social Stats.
  • Ambiguous Gender: Similar to Niko, Kato's gender isn't ever elaborated on, since it's just you and them. The rare times they are referred to by pronoun, it's always gender neutral.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Assembling the Universe Navigator allows you to save Kato from certain death by sending them to a safe location. However, the connection between you and Kato is permanently severed, and you will likely never contact each other again.
  • Cat Folk: Kato, as their name suggests, looks like a cat. Funnily enough, your Social Stats are listed as GATO.
  • Fun with Acronyms: Your Social Stats are Grounding, Adamance, Therapeutics and Optimism. It spells out GATO.
  • Metafiction: The game has a slight shade of this; the game itself is mainly a communication terminal that Kato finds you through. It's established that Kato exists just as you do, they're simply traveling across universes.
  • Notice This: Whenever you can get a new Social Link rank, the communicator will alert you. Sometimes, the game doesn't tell you the conditions to progress to this conversation, however.
  • Relationship Values: As you progress with Kato's storyline, you upgrade your Social Link. Each rank provides different boosts.
  • Take Your Time: The last stretch of the story revolves around Kato's ship breaking down, to the point it's only on life support, and it's up to you to get Kato to safety. However, you can go on as long as you need to get the parts of the Universe Navigator, even though Kato says they only have a few weeks worth of supplies without the ship's power.
  • Vague Age: It's implied that Kato is rather young, given how they look young and are bullied by some jerks for this, but it's never clarified either way.
  • Visual Novel: Really, the game is closer to this than an average Idle Game, as it focuses more on your conversations with Kato. The Idle Game in the background mostly ties into getting SP to boost your Social Stats.
