Ohai guys. V:

36 years old, fanfiction writer and game-mod maker. I've dabbled in many fictional mediums, made a gaming mod and a couple of fanfiction, many of the latter are in sub-hiatus stage.

My main work at the moment is "Aetherius", for classic Doom, with Naferia's Reign: Invasion of The Dark Mistress" for Duke Nukem 3D as a less-often worked on Game Mod.

My secondary (and less focused on) work is "The Misfits", a Mega Crossover Fanfiction combining lots of things, including Real Life. :P

Yay for me. I'll be back to edit this page in the future, I hope. <.<

Tropes associated with Lord Misfit:

  • Alternate Universe / Alternate Universe Fic - Misfit directly acknowledges that all of his stories/games/prjects [since they involve crossover elements or at least some non-original device] are intended to be read as if that story is taking place in an alternate reality (or even multiple alternate realities) from the one the medium itself canonically took place in. He came to see it this way as a means of not letting things he didn't like in other fanfictions based on What-If concepts or such make him rage in his youth.
    • The Multiverse - In fact, he at least mentions the concept of the entire Multiverse on many different occasions, and explaining some of his stories, like future Sagas of The Misfits, will not take place solely in ONE universe, but the story will branch out across many different universes. He's also publicly thrown out higher-class words like "Omniverse", or even "The Illocastrum" to reference the whole of existance, including our own real life universe's dimension itself.

  • Author Avatar / Self-Insert - Naferia's Reign has one in the form of Jack Walker, basically a 13-year old version of Misfit himself, with a slight change in name. In fact, the age of Jack in NR reflects the original conception timeline of NR itself, it having been started in 1997, when Misfit himself actually was 13.
    • He also has one named Clint Walker in The Misfits, named after his actual real life name completely. Clint is based on a 17-year old version of Misfit who was still in his final half of high school at the time [late August 2001].
      • A note about both Jack and Clint is that they're not avatars in that they know what's going on within the confines of the story ahead of time, but they are written as actual individual characters who are just as vulnerable to what Misfit himself writes out as the plot. As consequence or bonus to this, neither Jack or Clint are really in Gary Stu or Marty Stu territory. The two characters get into trouble often that requires help from others in the respective story to get them out of, and yet they are not completely doormats either, occasionally doing important things to help save the day too.

  • Crew of One - Almost all of his projects are 85-90% his own work put into them, with 10-15% help from various others from time to time. Naferia's Reign is a prime example, as Misfit not only does the storyline work, but also did 90% of the coding, aside from the help and references he found from the work of other CON coders.
    • In NR's case however, he does have the assistance of a small group of voice actors, who provide him with voices for characters like Bubsy, Cybanis, Lisa, Maken, Minako, in addition to his own [somewhat dopey] VA work for Jack and ESSence. Additionally, he has help from people like The Serious Cacodemon and Kyle873 on testing NR and getting bug reports and feedback.
    • In The Misfits case: He is the sole writer of the entire story, but he is not above accepting possible ideas from others, provided he can fit them into his schedule. His real life friends Alex [Akais Saiyako] and Devin [Devine Dragoon], whom have characters based on them in Misfits, have been known to toss ideas at him, and in the case of the latter, attempt to encourage Misfit to get off his lazy butt and continue Misfits.

  • Crossover / Mega Crossover - Pretty much any project Misfit has developed involves the crossing over of at least five mediums, some have gone into the dozens. The Misfits, if ever worked on more, is claiming it will be a primary example of just how many crossovers can be part of a story.
    • Note that Misfit has reasons he perfers to go this route. He painfully knows from some of his own ideas and that of other writers/gamers that not all crossovers end up turning out good. He does however believe in Strugeon's Law, even in the case of crossovers. Furthermore, he seriously believes if one is good enough to really study over the involved mediums in a crossover, even the most crossover-laden story can still work out or even be awesome.
    • The second reason is a bit less known: being a Trope-reader, Misfit is aware of a lot of things that while they might seem original to most, have in fact been used more than one [even himself sometimes] would expect. He's come to believe there is no true originality left in the world anymore with the Earth's population as it is now, not to mention all the time that he thinks has passed in human history, so "what's the point of trying too hard to be totally original?" That doesn't mean he can't understand the concept. He perfers doing many things different in his ideas, but he has no real interest in trying to do a totally "original" story, thinking the existing mediums and mythos in fiction can do well enough put together and done right.
    • Not being interested in profitting from his ideas might also be another reason he continues to do this so much.

  • Emoticons - Misfit uses them consistently. He tends to favor using "o.o" and ">.>"/"<.<" when IM chatting with friends and even total strangers. There are others he tends to throw out on occasion, but the above three are the most used.
    • In more recent years ":V", ":U" or variants of said emotes are also commonly used by him in his places of frequent.

  • Gary Stu - Has stated if his Self-Insert characters ever touched on this level long term that he'd probably consider them failed characters. He absolutely loathes making his Self Inserts be the to-end-all cool badass types that can do everything due to the fact he knows he himself in real life has his flaws.
