  • Completely Different Title: The original title of the movie is "Kawaki" (渇き。), which translates to "thirst". note 
  • No Export for You: The novel has never been translated into a Western language, even though the movie was quite successful. There was also a manga that has never surfaced outside of Japan.
  • Star-Making Role: This was Nana Komatsu's first feature film. She won the Hochi Film Award, the Japan Academy Prize and the Mainichi Film Award as best newcomer and since has appeared an many films.

  • What Could Have Been: The script had more action scenes but director Tetsuya Nakashima cut them down because they were too difficult for him to film.
